Buck Davidson, a Pan American Games medalist and five-star eventer, works with a Preliminary pair to develop quickness in the horse’s hind-end. He uses a figure-eight exercise to encourage the horse to sit and push from behind with better balance. As they move on to course work, Davidson suggests that the rider asks for more bend in the turns on the approach to the fences.
Buck Davidson has competed at Badminton, Burghley, Kentucky, Maryland and Pau CCI5*-L events. He has represented the U.S. at two FEI World Equestrian Games™ and earned team gold and individual bronze at the 2011 Pan American Games. He runs BDJ Equestrian out of facilities in Ocala, Florida, and Unionville, Pennsylvania.
