PART 2: Jimmy Wofford continues his cross country lesson by setting up the expectations for the session and beginning with a warm up. He discusses the stirrup length and speed he would like from the riders, and talks about how the pool of competitors decreases in size at Prelim level due to the increased speed and demand to gallop the fences. As the riders warm up, Jimmy discusses the ideal galloping position, sharing interesting biomechanical facts, as well as two point. He reminds the riders of the importance of their center of gravity and that they are not stiff, to create a clean, safe round.
