ICP Clinic Position Statement | Christopher Hess | PART 04
16m 31s
Part 4: Christopher discusses the two leg yields in the one star tests, and how one might ride them. He ties in pointers from the lesson, including checking submission to the outside rein, while explaining each aid and corresponding movement. While practicing building the leg yield, Christopher corrects the riders on using the reins to turn rather than using their eyes and the rest of the body. He explains that in a perfect world, they would be able to ride the entire test with their rein in one hand, and that's how little he'd like to see them use the rein aids. The exercise progresses to a trot, with the riders using their outside leg for a sooth upwards 'hop' transition. While using correct corners to set up to leg yield the riders struggle not to be late with their aids. Christopher concludes by discussing the geometry of Dressage and the importance of position statement then answering auditor questions.
