Five-star eventer Lillian Heard Wood instructs a horse-and-rider pair focusing on their power and balance during their show jumping rounds. While practicing courses, they work on controlling the horse’s right shoulder, preventing the horse from surging to the fences and fine-tuning adjustability with the rider choosing when to add or ride more forward.  Lillian Heard Wood is an international eventing competitor with 16 CCI5* completions, including top-20 finishes at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event and Land Rover Burghley CCI5*. She spent 10 years as a working student for five-star eventers Boyd Martin and Jan Byyny. Now, Heard Wood runs her training business out of Lanefield Farm in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.
