If your horse scoots off on the landing side of jumps, practice turning him several strides after a single fence. Stay very soft in the reins as he lands. Note hoe Samantha is beginning to turn her body in the direction she intends to go, but she is being careful not to pull on Indie’s mouth as she completes her jump.

Samantha gives the mare a stride to recover and then…

 … asks her to begin her turn. See how this has helped to balance Indie without any excessive pulling on the reins.
